Windows and doors are an important part of the Passivhaus standard. They must meet the energy efficient Uw mark of 0.8 and also meet certain air-tightness targets. The glass should have Solar Gain properties, especially in cart positions in the building to allow the sun to warm the home — plus shading options to avoid overheating in the summer. The installation is also important which is why our installers are fully Passivhaus-trained and expereinced.

What is Passivhaus?

Passivhaus is a stringent building standard focused on creating highly energy-efficient and comfortable living spaces. This approach dramatically reduces the need for conventional heating and cooling systems.

EnerPHit is a slightly downgraded version for retrofit projects, where the limits and challenges of the existing architecture and conservation mean that meeting the Passivhaus standard is not possible.
