Stunning Passivhaus Certified Selfbuild Home with Internorm Feature Glazing in Yorkshire

Situated on a hillside, this remarkable modern home is a perfect example of what can be achieved with Internorm windows and doors with our experts and the client working closely together.

The homeowner had considered other Internorm distribution partners but decided on Spectrum after meeting with us at their showroom in in Newport. He was impressed with our experience and our ideas.

An old bungalow, which occupied this large plot, was demolished to make way for this three-storey contemporary, energy-efficient Passive House certified newbuild with high ceilings and a beautiful open staircase connecting the ground floor bedrooms to the upper floor living and offices areas.

To make the most of the stunning views over the garden and the Yorkshire countryside, 14m of fixed timber-aluminium glazing was installed one side of the building on the upper level. The final specifcation came from extensive discusions and advice form our expert technical people. Light from the large glazing fills the contemporary open plan living and dining area, creating a calm and bright space. French doors with Juliette balconies were added on the side on the suggestion of Spectrum to allow the owners to enjoy fresh air and uninterrupted views.

This unique modular timber house was built in complete modules in Welshpool, Wales, and installed in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland
We fitted the Internorm windows and sliding in Wales prior to the modules being trucked as wide loads to the islands. The building was so well constructed that the windows and sliding doors worked perfectly after transportation and installation of the building.
