This Fully Insulated Glass Extension has a reverse pitch to increase the sense of space and light.
We also supplied and installed triple-glazed Kastrup windows thoughout the house
This fabulous glass extension is a Solarlux Akzent Plus and incorporates Solarlux Ecoline bifolding doors. It's fully insulated with underfloor heating and the client has removed sections of wall to open up it up to the rest of the house creating a lighter feel to the living areas.
The client first made contact on our stand at a show. He had a strong idea of what he wanted to achieve and had already approached another dealer. However, he had misgivings about the dealer and really liked what he saw of us and our people. After a visit to our showroom, had decided to put his trust in us.
The plan included a reverse pitch (the roof slopes up, away from the house) to create a strong feeling of space and light, and to maximise the views of a beautiful riverside garden. There are also electrically operated awnings on the roof and over the front windows to provide shade in hot weather plus two electric sliding roof lights for ventilation. There is a weather station which controls the awnings and lighting and senses the weather — it activates the awnings when it detects excess heat from the sun and also shuts them if rain is detected.
The windows throughout the house are timber-aluminium windows by Kastrup. Kastrup windows are custom made in Denmark and combine Danish style with exceptional performance and include triple-glazing as standard.
