A Glass Box Style Extension with Cero Sliding Doors

A Glass Box Style Extension in a Stone House overlooking the Ribble Valley

This is an interesting project with an imaginative use of stone and glass to make the most of the spectacular views over the Ribble Valley

The extension has Cero II slim-profile slding glass doors and fixed panels, in aluminium finished in anthracite grey.

The clients were understandably keen to do something that makes the most of  those spectacular views. They approached us because they'd seen our Cero system and it seemed perfect — Cero has ultra-slim frames but are built in Germany to exceptional standards to ensure that there perform beautifully every time. To maximise the views, they went for a pillarless opening corner on one side and a fixed bonded glass corner on the other for an unbroken view.

Installation was challenging due to the location on the side of a steep hill. We had to use our crane to lift the big, heavy panels over a fence into the hillside and heavy-lifting equipment to get the panels into position. All in a day's work for our highly experienced team!

The project was completed in 2017 and in 2024 they told us how much they still love their Cero doors & windows. They spend all their time in the extension and their dog particularly loves it. They are now extending on the other side of the house and came straight to us for the glazing as they had been impressed first time around... and of course their sliding doors all still work perfectly. Keep an eye out for photos of the new extension later in 2024.
