A Stunning Self-Build Home with Extra Large Solarlux Sliding Doors

Making the most of stunning views with expanses of Cero sliding doors and glass panels.

Full photoshoot to follow in late 2023

This wonderful self-build home aimed to be different and to maximise light and views. It certainly does that! The house was the first in the UK to be glazed entirely with Solarlux windows & doors. The fixed windows are Solarlux Highline (triple-glazed) and the sliding doors are Solarlux Cero 3 (also triple-glazed) which have an ultra-slim profile making them as frameless as is possible. The central atrium includes huge double-storey Cero sliding doors.

It was Koru Architects who first made contact. They were looking at several different glazing systems but they initially thought the Cero would be too expensive. But John, the client, came to see us and was blown away by the big Cero in our showroom. He was also impressed by our company and by the amount of experience we have in this kind of extra-large triple-glazing and the decision was made. Our project manager Lone worked very closely with John, the builders and the architects to refine the design and finalise the specification.

The installation was done entirely by Mark and Luke, two experienced lead installers, who take great pride in their work and like to get every detail right.  To install the windows on the higher floors, they had to use the spider crane to lift the glazing robot onto the higher floor to fit the heavy glass panels.... no easy task! But that's where the experience comes in.
